His areas of expertise include public policy analysis, the economics of antitrust, regulation, intellectual property, economic damages, and trade policy. Dr. Kearl is the A.O. Smoot professor of economics at Brigham Young University. While a white house fellow, he served as a special assistant to the secretary of defense and to the U.S. trade representative, and has also served on the U.S. Census Advisory Committee on Population Statistics.
